Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced that Kyiv has formally proposed a new round of peace talks with Russia, aiming to restart diplomatic efforts to end the ongoing conflict.

In his nightly address on Saturday, Zelenskyy said the talks are proposed for next week, emphasizing the need to "step up the momentum" of negotiations.

"Security Council Secretary Umerov also reported that he had proposed the next meeting with the Russian side for next week," Zelenskyy stated.

He further stressed that the pace of negotiations must increase, and that all possible steps should be taken to achieve a ceasefire.

This proposal marks Ukraine’s latest diplomatic move amid continued hostilities and humanitarian concerns on the battlefield.
